Get your taxes done using TurboTax
There are 2 interpretations for entering 7 on form 1099-R. The relevant one for my purpose us to indicate only that this is "normal processing". As the issuer of my tax form informs me. But turbo tax acknowledges only the other interpretation-that is, source of income from a foreign country. Thus, when I go to review my income tax to finish my federal tax report, my turbo tax form tells me I must first correct my error by citing the foreign country that is the source of my income. I have none. "7" indicates only that this is a normal distribution from my Haverford Township Pension Plan . It will not allow me to proceed further without naming the foreign country from which I have this source of income, & then instructs me to fill out a 1116 form to do this. Haverford will not change this form, but without the change, which they insist is perfectly in order, I cannot proceed further to file my federal return.
