The software will keep giving the error check until the overage is corrected. As mentioned by ErnieS0, you can list the entries as the max allowed if they exceeds the limit. Then add another line with the remaining balance to the description of "Other mandatory deductible state or local tax". This will allow the e-file to proceed, the UI/WF/SWF as the correct figure and the remainder is still listed on the return as other mandatory deductible state or local tax.
