"Miles Must be greater than zero" upon Review
TT is taking me through the review portion and it keeps kicking out our 2010 Toyota because it says "Miles must be greater than zero."
This car is now 12 years old with 258K. It had significant business mileage in 2015 and 2016, but much smaller amounts since then. Our daughter drives it now, but the title is still in my and my wife's names. It just so happened that we had no business miles in 2022, but it could conceivably be used for short trips in the future, if I happen to have it that day because it was in the shop or whatever.
I tried going back through vehicle expenses and said that we no longer use it for business purposes (although it is possible we might for short trips around town). It told me to go through the Section 127 depreciation recapture part of the Less Common Business Expenses. (That just feels WRONG in our situation, but I thought I would try it). However, it still gave me this message, so I put it back.
It didn't affect our taxes either way. So I don't think it's significant.
I guess my questions are:
- How can I fix this issue?
- Is this a significant problem, or should I just not worry about it?
See Screen Cap below.
Thanks for your help.
