My landlord replaced the gas furnace in the house that I rent with an electric heat pump at my request in exchange for an increase in rent. Am I able to claim the rent increase amount allocated to cover the heat pump installation and receive the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit for 2022 and then every year thereafter subject to the IRA amendment (term and total amount limits)?
