If you receive your paystubs electronically and direct-deposit, then perhaps the provider has an electronic document you can download. That is what I had from my previous employer - no paper copy was mailed. I had to log into ADP to download the tax document.
If you receive your paystubs and a physical check from your employer then you should contact your payroll department to determine the W2 status.
