sure it can if your withholding and estimated tax payments are about the same as your tax liability. look at lines 24 and 33 on your 1040. if they're about the same you get a small refund. we have no way of knowing if you missed something that impacts your refund. you should also review the 1040 line by line and compare it to your 2021 return.
