This is considered self-employment income, so you would need to enter in the Self-employment Income section. Even though you are the grandparent, you still have to claim and report as self-employment income subject to self-employment tax. But this is also considered earned income so you may qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).
To get to the self-employment income section follow these steps:
- Go to federal>income and expenses>
- Self-Employment>Self-employment income and expenses
- Complete the profile that asks about your self-employment income
- Then there will be a screen where you will enter your self-employment income.
