There is no way to make an entry on Schedule 1 line 24z. It's not that line 24z should be left blank. It's that TurboTax, and some other tax software providers, have not implemented line 24z for 2022. (Line 24z is new this year.) Since some tax software programs do not provide any way to make an entry on line 24z, the IRS is accepting a negative entry on line 8z as an alternative for 2022 tax returns.
