That's because the 2017 TurboTax software cannot recognize your file, since it cannot open a .zip file. You'll have to unzip it first and then find the data file, which ends in the *.tax2017 extension. And then the 2017 software should be able to open the data file.
Does your .zip file have the data file in it? Hopefully, it's not just the PDF of your return. You'll need the *.tax2017 data file to open in the 2017 software.
