When you used the term "Self-Employed app", do you have Mobile App for TurboTax on a mobile device and are using the Self-Employed Edition on it?
If you have the Mobile App, it also allows you to use Online TurboTax from a computer. You can switch back and forth between the Mobile App and Online TurboTax from your Mac and access the Self-Employed Edition in Online TurboTax.
However, if you want to install software to use your Mac to prepare the return offline instead of Online TurboTax, you can purchase the Home and Business Edition (or other desktop edition) to install on your Mac.
Home and Business offers the most help for self-employed folks. Actually any of the desktop products can handle all the forms. All desktop editions can prepare a Schedule C for the self-employed. They differ mainly in the amount of help and guidance.
Desktop Premier and Home and Business both include a state program. Desktop Deluxe comes in 2 versions--one that is Federal-only, and one that is a combo Federal and State. If purchased directly from TurboTax, Deluxe is the combo Fed and State version. If purchased elsewhere, you have to be careful as to which version of Deluxe you are buying.
Desktop Basic Edition does not come with a state program and cannot import from ItsDeductible.
