I'm not sure why your refund changed when you upgraded your program, but until your return is complete the refund or tax due amount is subject to change.
It's not unusual for your state tax withheld to equal your state tax obligation and when this happens your refund is $0. This is because in many states the tax rules are simple enough to allow for the exact amount of tax to be wittheld from your pay to equal the tax you owe.
Since you downloaded your tax return, you can review it and look for your income tax amount and the tax withheld and see if they are the same. You can compare the tax withheld on your return to the amount on line 17 on your W-2 form, as often that is the total of your state tax withheld.
