Get your taxes done using TurboTax
I did not mention that Turbotax wanted me to enter by quarters-of-a-year long-term and short-term capital gains, dividends and whatever else income. My wife employed a stockbroker who churned stock purchases last year and accumulated at least a 100 sales last year. To try to sum these by entries by quarters and subject would have been an impossible task. Turbotax, too, was vague on where the entry was to be entered and what it was for. For example, it asked for "Form 2210AI A-ST Net G(L)". What? Worse, its not necessary under Form 2210. I know that because I filled out Form 2210 by hand. Turbotax goofed and probably because I had asked to do the quarterly entries and then tried to remove it. Turbotax won't allow incorrect entries in Form2210, it appears
So.....I deleted Form 2210. Turbotax says I owe no penalty---same as before---but now does not require the 12 entries. This fixed it. If this did not work, I don't know if I would have deleted the whole return and started over.....
