1098-T & 1099-Q
Our daughter is a college freshman and is in the process of applying for residency in the state where she attends college. Part of that requirement for residency is that we as her parents can't claim her as a dependent on our prior year taxes (2022). We have received a 1099-Q (state sponsored 529) which has the parent name, and a 1098 -T which has our daughter's name. Now, we don't know how to handle these two forms; TurboTax will only add these two forms if the child is listed as a dependent in the profile area (we removed her name from this section). She has an older sibling and we have always entered these two forms on our taxes, but now I'm not clear how to proceed.
Our daughter will be required to file taxes based on several months of auxiliary social security income. Should she add these two documents to her own return?
