Get your taxes done using TurboTax
When filling out qualifying questions on tax breaks, it specifies and asks if the user has contributed to a retirement plan. If so then that user gets 45$ added to their refund.
now with how this questionnaire is set up, if you continue after qualifying for said “tax break”, it displays that “In order to receive the 45$ tax break that the User “must” agree to use the deluxe version (not the free version) of TurboTax. Aka kiss whatever tax break goodbye, and pay 3 times that instead. There is NO way to go back and change the previously answered information on tax breaks to avoid the retirement tax break and therefore continue using the free version. And save over 100$
I restarted my tax return enough times to know when it’s all a marketing ploy to generate revenue for this company.
I use the MINT app. It’s awesome.
this years pre-ordained questionnaires concerning tax breaks on citizens who have already contributed to a retirement plan have been rigged to the point where in order to even inform This company how unjustifiable it is, I need to submit the truth in a group forum. Where everything said after this post will appear to be my problem, and my fault.
I’ve used TurboTax for years.
I understand you have to make a profit.
but it shouldn’t be made by using the “stress free program”, against its own consumers.
there is no remedy, and no way to rectify what the system was already designed to do.
Don’t make it the consumers problem, when IT and algorithms are designed solely to profit off us consumers.
I hate to sound rude but I’m just being honest.
My federal refund is non taxable.
it should be free to file my federal tax refund. Since that is what I started doing after cooking the free version. Now state on the other hand, I understand, and don’t mind paying 39$ to process. But triple charging me is not fair, right, and is in fact illegal.
