Get your taxes done using TurboTax

No matter how you file, if it's earlier than the fix, you may be making it even worse on yourself. Just because you get to efile and it's accepted does not mean you won't have to file an amended form after the IRS update to this error. It doesn't make sense the IRS would allow allow some tax preparing software to go ahead and accept the return but other software's have been rejected. Think about that for a moment.

This particular problem starts with the IRS and they openly admit they have this problem and give an estimated fix date.

People that left tt and did e-file successfully, on H&RB & on eTax, will have a new problem later on simply because that software package allowed the return to be processed without the IRS update. UNLESS, for the few that didn't need the 8960 form, of course. If you don't need that form on your taxes, happily go elsewhere to file.

If you actually do need that form to be a part of their taxes, you may have a worse delay later than you would now, just waiting for the IRS to update the problem. I mean who really WANTS to have to file an amended return or even worse, who WANTS to have to hire an outside service to help straighten out what you've done by filing with a software program that didn't stop your return when it should have been stopped ???

I am one of those that's desperate for my refund and I think it's going to be best to wait. Unfortunately. But really, why file a form that's wrong and will be eventually stopped just to have the satisfaction of receiving "ACCEPTED", when it most likely can only be a temporary relief.
