Can I claim my son even though I lived with my sons father for most of the year but we did separate for a couple months and my son stayed with me themost does it matter?

Me and my sons father have been together most of 2022 we separated in august and got back together in December. My son stayed the whole week with me and weekend with his dad. We’re together now so does this matter? Should he claim him rather than me?
