1) don't report it. If and when the IRS contacts you for an explanation of why you did not report it, you can provide them with the information you have that proves it was an invalid 1099-MISC.
2) report it in and out - in the adjustment section check the other box and enter the total amount for the adjustment
3) contact the IRS.
