You need to first enter your educator expenses on your federal return.
To do this in TurboTax Online you can follow these steps:
- Within your tax return use the magnifying glass icon to search for Educator expenses
- Click the Jump to link
- Answer the questions and enter the amount paid for Educator expenses
- After you click Done, click Your State Returns in the black menu on the left
- Click Edit for VA and Continue answering the questions and the review of your return
