The answer depends on the situation so here are the possibilities.
- Federal tax due- if you chose to mail the payment, the voucher will be a part of your return. Simply print and mail. Advise tracking to ensure your safety. Better option- pay online.
- State tax due - same as federal, it prints with your return. Most states have an option to pay at the state website.
- Federal estimated payments for 2023 -within the program,
- go to other tax situations,
- scroll down to Other Tax Forms,
- select W-4 and estimated taxes.
- Go through the program.
- The program will ask if you want vouchers printed with your return. Select YES.
- When your return is finished, they will be part of the paperwork. You can print and mail, with tracking is advised. Better option, pay online.
- State estimated payments- many states have the option to prepare estimates but not all. You can print estimates from your state website or even better, pay online.
