It is very confusing, as the IRS website says to EXCLUDE from line 1a on the 1040, and INCLUDE as Other Income from Schedule 1. That seems to be exactly what Turbo Tax is doing...but somewhere in the logic, it is adding back in behind the scenes, thereby causing the error. Zeroing out in Box 10 on the W-2 causes it to add back to line 1a on the 1040, but then also causes it to keep Schedule 1...so doubling! Since the tax ultimately is the same whether income on line 1a or as other income (which is really to do with Earned Income Credit calcs and don;t apply to me anyway), I blanked out Box 10 on the W-2, then did the same on the Schedule 1 WKS, which eliminated the actual Schedule 1. Once I checked it all over, I resubmitted, and now waiting to see if it will be accepted. Fingers crossed!
