The 5-digit pin is for signing your electronic return. You can reuse the pin from last year or create a new one. If you are trying to sign the return electronically, you can create a new one if you don't remember it from last year. If you are trying to use the pin for Identification purposes, you can enter the PIN or your Adjusted Gross Income.
