Get your taxes done using TurboTax
If you don't display all of the transactions, you may miss some details. One issue is missing or incorrect basis. If you don't post it you may not recognize it.
However, you do have the option to post only the summary. You will have to send the IRS the details of all transactions.
How to Attach PDF of 1099-B
- Wages and Income
- Scroll to Investments & Savings
- Select Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other (1099-B) [Start or Revisit]
- If you already have an entry, select the appropriate broker or add another account.
- Get ready to be impressed - Continue.
- Click Enter a different way.
- Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds - Continue
- Enter Broker - Continue
- Tell us about the sales on your [Broker] 1099‑B
- Do these sales include any employee stock? - No
- Do you have more than three sales on your 1099‑B? - Yes (4+)
- Do these sales include any other types of investments? - No
- Did you buy every investment listed on your 1099‑B? - Yes
- Continue
- Choose Sales Section tools - Continue
- Look for your sales on your 1099‑B - Continue
- Post your sales
- This will close the record
- Continue to screen Now we'll help you upload your 1099-B since the IRS requires a copy
- Browse and select your document
- Document will show in TurboTax - Continue
- This completes the process
- When you upload your document, your filing instructions will not show that anything needs to be mailed in, and no Form 8453 will be generated.
