Correct Taxpayer's Prior Year PIN
The 5-digit PIN to electronically file is "grayed out" with "00000" in the gray box. So, I cannot even enter a 5-digit PIN to even see if an error happens on the other end. This same thing happened to me last year when I filed with Turbotax. I spent at least 10 hours on the phone with you guys trying to get this fixed. We tried everything from using the online program to downloading the program. Nothing worked and this problem was not able to fix last year! So, I had to paper file and it took over 6 months to get my tax return check. I almost did not sign up this year for TurboTax for this reason. I was hoping this problem had been resolved. Apparently it hasn't. I need a software guru to fix this. Listed below is the error that I am receiving when I try to enter my 5-digit PIN to electronically file. You entered an invalid Prior Year PIN for Frank. Verify and make any necessary corrections here. A Prior Year PIN is a five-digit PIN that you used to e-file your tax return last year.
