Need to file a complaint against Turbo Tax? Know Your Rights
I have been arguing with Turbo Tax for a year over my 2021 Tax filing. They were supposed to take the fees from my federal Tax return in 2022. But they charged me the $166 in fees (including taxes) on 1/27/22, and the IRS issues my Federal tax refund to Turbo Tax on 3/2/2023.
I had called the IRS to figure out where my refund went, to which the IRS has to tell me that the amount they claimed I was getting back from the Federal Government was incorrect, and the IRS had reduced it. (I was pissed about it, but whatever)
Then the IRS informed me they had issued the money to Turbo Tax, and did not know why Turbo tax had not given me my money. They said I could file a complaint against Turbo Tax, they would request bank statement from Turbo Tax, and if Turbo Tax did not respond, I could press Federal Charges. They also recommended I try to contact Turbo one more time, because the Federal charges process can take years.
I tried to contact Turbo tax on 2 occasions after filing a complaint, and both time "the banks website was down" and they were unable to locate my tax return.
The time has elapsed, and Turbo Tax has not returned any bank information to the IRS, and I am pursuing federal criminal charges.
