It looks like you meet the criteria for being considered self-employed. I do assume that you receive a 1099-NEC though. If you are self-employed and earning income all you would need to receive the Qualified Business Income(QBI) is to show a profit! Showing a profit is key. If there is no profit, there is no QBI for that year. The QBI will continue to accumulate though until you show a profit! Good Luck to you!!!
