Get your taxes done using TurboTax

I am so sorry to hear that your bank account was compromised before your refund could be deposited.  That can be very frustrating.

I would have a few questions to get you to the proper answer for this.

  • Did you close the account before the refund was to be deposited?
    • If so, the IRS normally will issue you a check in the mail to the address listed on the tax return once the bank refuses the deposit.
  • Are you looking to change deposit information before the refund was sent by the IRS?
    • Normally this is something that you would have to contact the IRS and request they cancel the deposit and send a check.  They will not change the deposit account information.
  • Are you looking to change your account on your TurboTax account for the upcoming season?
    • This can be done, at checkout, inside of your account before filing.

Here is a link to information on what the IRS will do with changes to deposit information:  Will The IRS Change Direct Deposit Information?

I hope this information helps get your account information changed for the upcoming Tax Season.
