Hello I recently sold my home that was gifted to my son and it turns out he did not keep some of the receipts that he did improvement and fix up for the house and does not remember the cost of them over 10+ year. The projects were pretty big so how would I go about submitting them? He has the pictures of before and after. Do I just look up the estimate of the fixing when filing the return or does the bank keep records of them over 10 years old?
