My current withholding status is HH. Filing this year was a bit awkward. Currently married but husband currently serving life sentence. I was able to file HH because of child depend. This year no child dependent but have parent dependent (does not meet HH requirements). Only option was to file MFJ which is ok but didn't want to go this route wanted to go MFS. Question not sure whether to change my payroll withholding to married or married filing separately.
