Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Don't want to get into a disagreement but the problem I pointed out lies with Turbo Tax
I used the import function in Turbo Tax to bring over my Quicken data. Now Quicken data or any home finance software can end up with minor differences from the real results. i.e the software may be off a few cents on home interest from the actual amount provided by the mortgage company so you should be able to modify/correct the amount in Turbo Tax.
I used Turbo Tax for years and then went to H&R Block for the last 5-6 years. I would also import the Quicken data and the various 1099's into H&R Block and would then check/correct any minor problems. Now I don't think the IRS would complain if I was off a dollar on my return compared to the "official " 1099 but I would also like to make everything agree.
So YES I think my request is to TurboTax not Quicken. TurboTax should allow changes to imported data.
In a few weeks when I import my 1099's am I going to end up with double amounts since that data is also in the Quicken import.
