don't be in a rush. e-filing won't open until late January and most forms are not correct for the 2022 tax year. Turbotax will open its servers to store e-filed returns earlier but they'll just sit there until the IRS opens up. also, make sure you have all your tax documents some of which you won't get until the end of January or even early February. year after year there are numerous threads about taxpayers who rushed to file ASAP only to get tax documents that weren't included. this might require filing an amended return which will slow their refunds, the IRS may reject the returns for certain missing items or move the return to where id must be manually processed again slowing down refunds. last year's omissions may have been the primary cause of taxpayers having to wait 6 to 9 months to get their refunds.
