Yes, it is okay to use amend/change return for this. Once you've selected amend (change) 2021 return, you can update your return in the program to match the changes that were made by the IRS.
Of course, you won't mail this return for processing, but by making the changes in 2021, the corrected data should be what flows automatically to your 2022 return (but do double check the pertinent entries when preparing your 2022 return just to be certain everything looks as you expect it to.)
