Hello 9900!  Thanks for participating in our event today.  

You may still be able to claim your daughter as a dependent, but in a different way than you did when she was a minor.  You can claim her as a qualifying relative, rather than as a qualifying child.   The requirements for this are:

  • She earns less than $4300.
  • You provide more than half of her living expenses.

You will get less tax breaks than you did when she was younger.  You may qualify for a Credit for Other Dependents, which is $500.  Your daughter will not count for the earned income credit.
