Thanks for that update! I consider this to be very good news. Trying to put it all together, it sounds like, in the past, Mint has simply used screen-scraping to get all the transaction data from USAA accounts. USAA recently implemented a bunch of changes to their interface, making it difficult (even intentionally so) for Mint or others to continue to collect the transaction data in that manner. INSTEAD, they have implemented an API and made it available for Mint (and similar services) to use (the good news!). This is far better than screen scraping, because it doesn't break every time they make some small change to the page (which can be very frustrating and time intensive). If this is true, then it might require a decent amount of effort on the part of MINT developers to implement changes to use USAA's API to make everything work. That would be why there was finger pointing back and forth, initially, and it would make sense of why USAA was saying - "We are not going to allow any more screen scraping." The good news for us (customers) would be that it may just be a matter of time until Mint comes around and makes the needed changes. In the past, I've never seen USAA just disregard the needs of customers like it was appearing they were doing with all of this, so I really hope this is what is going on.
