I understand all of the issues regarding forfeited refunds and still filing for any year where a tax might be due. The issue entirely is getting many years of information modeled into a single piece of software. Since Intuit does not have any solution for doing this for 2017, can you think of any vendor that might still support 2017, that would:
a) Take Turbotax Premier 2016 data as the input, creating 2017 returns inside the software?
b) Generate an output file that Turbotax Premier 2018 could take as its input for 2018?
It's a shame that Intuit does not understand that sometimes you want old software in order to have a complete software repository for information, not because you need to file that year's tax return. Intuit could have sold older years without any support for them.
