First of all check with TurboTax for the return having been accepted. The fact that your TurboTax account shows the return filed, is not sufficient. The Tax Return might have been rejected and TurboTax can find this information for you, or you may have received the rejection report via e-mail.
Once you have prove that the Tax Return was accepted by the IRS, then you can move forward to send them (proof) a copy of the acknowledgement.
As long as you can't prove to the IRS that they accepted the Tax Return, it will be your word against the IRS, and you will need to review the return at the TurboTax website and file it again.
