Thank you for reaching out.
IF you daughter was your dependent - meaning
- She was a full time student
- she lived with you for more than 6 months (time at college counts as staying with you)
- you provide more than half of her support for the year
then whether you claim her as dependent or not, she has to say that someone can claim her as a dependent .
Considering above, if she is your dependent, you should include her as such on your taxes. If you claim her as a dependent you will get a child tax credit of $500.
