Hi @Optimistic_g. I would recommend contacting the IRS directly to see if you can respond now to prove that your nephew resides with you so that you can claim him as a qualifying dependent. I would also suggest verifying that you will not have any issues claiming him as a dependent for the tax returns you need to complete.
If the IRS says that you cannot claim him as a dependent, I would then file an amendment for the tax year's applicable.
