Rare occurrence of a second 2018/2019 stimulus check?

Ok so, I have a extremely weird dilemma. I received a stimulus check in April for myself, and my three dependents. I claimed head of household for 2018. I didn't file my 2019 taxes yet due to me just getting married. My wife has not filed her 2018/2019 taxes either, and so did not receive a check due to not filing. I just filed my 2019 taxes on July 15th, the last day. My question is, since she did NOT receive any money nor did she file, would she be eligible to receive a stimulus check now under her social security number? I read that its extremely rare but could possibly happen.

That is a very common situation and not rare at all.

The stimulus is actually a 2020 stimulus based on your 2020 tax return, but because people needed money right away because of COVID-19, the IRS sent "advance" payments based on the 2019 (or 2018 tax return if 2019 not yet filed when  the stimulus payments were sent).    After the 2020 tax return is filed in 2021 then the IRS will send a 2nd check if additional payment is due.
