BOX 2a on 1099-R is taxable amount...then Turbo asks about Capital Gains which they say is "contained in box 2a"--do I post the total taxable amount AGAIN in Capital Gains?

Leave Block 3 blank, unless there is an entry on your paper or digital copy of the Form 1099-R.
IF you had any capital gains, they would have been included in Block 2a. The Box 3 entry identifies any capital gains that were part of the box 2a amount because they would be treated differently for tax purposes.
