Retirement tax questions
Social Security income is not included in the dependency exemption income limit unless the person is married filing a separate return and lived with their spouse at any time during the tax year; or if 1/2 their social security benefits plus their other gross income and tax exempt interest is more than $25,000 ($32,000 if MFJ).
**Answers are correct to the best of my ability but do not constitute tax or legal advice.
