I accidently clicked on retirement contribution credit but I put 0 dollars for my husband and I. Why did the program add 490 Dollars contributed. Now I have to amend an refile.
If either you or your husband put money into your Employer's retirement plan, this counts toward the Retirement Contribution Credit. This is reported in box 12 of your W2, with code D, E, F, G, H, or J.
