Can I claim the American Opportunity tax credit in my 5th year of school, if I've only claimed it once before?

One of conditions of the American Opportunity Credit is that the student must not have completed 4 years of post-secondary education before the start of the tax year.

So, you are eligible if on January 1, 2017 you have not completed 4 years of college.
