Schedule K-1, Part III, 20: It is still not clear where and how the supplemental information (20AE, 20AF, 20AH1, 20AH4) is entered. 20 has only one open space (*)

Is the K-1 from a partnership or S-Corp?

As soon as you complete the last line, a new line appears in the table for Box 20 entries.

Follow these steps to enter the box 20 amounts:

  1. On the screen, Enter Box 20 Info, on the first line in the box, enter Code AE and the amount.
  2. On the next line,  enter Code AF and the amount.
  3. On the next line, enter Code AH and the amount.
  4. On the next line, enter Code AH again and the amount.
  5. Continue with as many lines as you have in the K-1.
  6. When you've completed the entries, click Continue.
  7. On the next screen, Enter Box 20 Code AH amounts, use the supplemental information from your K-1 to place the amounts in the correct category.
  8. If the entry doesn't go in any of the boxes on the list, put it in the Other Description section.  These amounts may need to be entered elsewhere in TurboTax.  Consult the instructions that came with the K-1.

On my 2021 tax return in TurboTax, I imported a K-1 that includes several Box 20 entries (most on the Supplemental schedule) but only those from Form 1065 itself were entered into the Box 20 information. If I click inside the last one and hit the Enter key, TT does not create a new line for additional entries. I hope the answer is not to delete the import, create a blank LP entry, and then fill in all the K-1 info from scratch. If so, the fact that one cannot add supplemental lines to an imported K-1 is a significant oversight/shortcoming in the current 2021 version of TurboTax.
