Wife stayed in Illinois for 2 month & not work .she got job in Pennsylvania from April-DEC. I stay/work only in Illinois ... So can we file joint federal & State separate
My wife stayed in Illinois with me from Jan-march but did not earn any income but then moved to Pennsylvania for rest of year for a job and paid state taxes there. I work and stay in Illinois..
So can we file a joint Federal Tax return and a separate state tax return?
She files Penn State tax return while I do illinois?
if yes what is the process?
I am using trubotax deluxe windows version

Yes, you may file a joint Federal Return and separate state returns. The reason why for you is because both Illinois and Pennsylvania allow this option. (Not all states do allow this option).
