If you purchased or refinanced a home, there are often "points" on the Settlement Statement.  Those points may be tax deductible.  Points can also be called loan origination fees, maximum loan charges, discount points, or loan discount.  You would have to look at your final closing settlement statement to find out if you paid any points.
