I have to lie to avoid taking tax credit?
I don't want to claim the American opportunity tax credit Even though I qualify for it. It seems Turbo tax can only let me avoid this credit if I claim
- I've already taken exhausted the credit (False information in my case)
- I've already acquired 4-year worth school credit(false as well)
- I've committed felony (okay NO)
Question:
Does turbotax support any sane option for offing this credit? Like Thank you America but I'm good this year?

Deductions & credits
Simply skip that education section ... remove the 1098-T if you do not wish to take the credit.

Deductions & credits
Hey, thanks but the whole point of my question was to submit accurate information to the IRS while avoiding to claim the tax credit. I am not sure if skipping the education section is okay
