Not sure if I need to pay taxes to the state of TN. Dividends and interest from Fed return are <$600. Is investment income from stocks included in the calculation?
Ive had to file every year until now, but dont want to buy the TN return from TurboTax if its not necessary.

State tax filing
Yes - Investment income from stocks (interest, dividends, capital gains) is included in the calculation for TN tax. For a list of the items considered taxable and nontaxable in TN, please see this guide, starting on p. 3: https://www.tn.gov/content/dam/tn/revenue/documents/taxguides/indincguide.pdf
