I am a resident of WA state. I go to law school at Notre Dame in IN. I was paid $4,000 by ND last summer to for work in an office in WA state. Do I file IN state taxes?

State tax filing
No, you do not need to file Indiana. This is because:
- You are a Washington resident
- Your income was earned in Washington (even though it came from Notre Dame)
- You are in Indiana temporarily for school. You remain an Indiana non-resident, and that income is not taxable in Indiana
