I live in Texas, work remotely for a company in New Jersey. Do I have to pay income tax in New Jersey.

When hired, I was told there would be no NJ taxes because I did not travel there or work there at all.  Because I do not go into the office in New Jersey, I am exempt from paying the state income taxes.

State tax filing

Yes you do. NJ is one of a handful of states that taxes telecommuters, and has done so for several years. Show your employer these articles, and have therm start withholding NJ taxes.
