Can you get a Massachusetts refund if there was no tax due and no payment?
for 2020, if you have under $8,000 income, paid no taxes to the state of Mass and no taxes were due to the state of Massachusetts, is there any credit that might result in a refund for an 80 year old single person from the state of Mass?

Here is a list of Personal Income Tax Credits offered in Massachusetts.
The only one that appears to be "refundable", i.e. you can get it even if you don't have a MA tax liability, is the Senior Circuit Breaker Tax Credit.

Thanks! I found that too. But they passed away in April 2020. I think they paid some property tax before that. But the property is in a trust. So, can they get that credit even though they are deceased?
